Sorry if you guys don't like questions about Windows 7 (considering this is a Vista forum and all

) but I would really appreciate any help I can get. Plus, I figured since Vista and 7 aren't so different, it wouldn't be such a big deal.
Ran into a probably predictable problem trying to restore an image from a single drive onto a newly set up RAID-0 and was hoping someone could help me get my computer back up and running.
So, I decided that I wanted to make my pc slightly faster by using a 2nd 640gb hard drive in addition to my primary 640gb drive, by setting up a striped array. I'm running Windows 7 RC by the way.
My plan was:
1. Make a system image using Windows 7 backup utility from my primary and only 640gb drive in the pc and back it up onto an external WD Elements 640gb drive.
2. Add a 2nd 640gb drive and set up the raid through nvidia's mediashield utility at startup (by pressing F10), which completely erases the two drives.
3. Restore the image using Windows 7 installation DVD (through the repair options).
So everything goes according to plan, except that after the successful restore which took a couple of hours, I now have the blue screen of death popping up for a split second and an automatic reboot every time I try to start Windows in normal or safe mode.
Using startup repair I've learned the following:
Startup Repair

Diagnostic and repair details:
Root cause found:
A recent driver installation or upgrade may be preventing the system from starting.
Repair action: System files integrity check and repair
Result: Failed. Error code = 0x490
I'm assuming the error is due to my old SATA/RAID controller driver being configured for a non-RAID system. I have the newest nvidia sata/raid drivers on a usb flash drive but I have no idea how to load them onto the system considering I can't even boot in safe mode.
So, any idea what I should do =)? Any and all help is much appreciated.
