DVD-ROM/DVD-Burner Won't Recognize in Vista Ultimate 64-bit
Hello all, I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I was suddenly made aware of the fact that neither my DVD-Rom drive or my DVD-burner are functional under Vista Ult. 64-bit. I know they were working correctly in the past, but I cannot say how long ago as I haven't used them lately.
The drives recognize fine in BIOS, are both SATA drives, and both spin up as BIOS attempts to boot from them during the normal boot cycle.
They are a Lite-On LH-20A1L Lightscribe DVD Burner and an Atapi DH16D2S DVD-ROM. Inexplicably, Vista sees them, but just gives me a general failure when I uninstall/reinstall them. Any ideas as to why they would suddenly stop working?
