Samsung Q-45 with Vista Ultimate vs. MS Wireless Laser Desktop 7000 - Q45 keyboard layout defeated
Well I got tired of my touchpad and wanting to use my mouse plugged the USB transmitter from my MS Wireless Laser Desktop 7000 which duly installed itself via plug and play and seemed to be working fine. Unfortunately it also succeeded in changing the key configuration for the native PS2 Q-45 keyboard which is a relatively standard laptop setup...

The result is that the right of my QWERTY keypad thinks it's a numeric extension as per a full size board and other characters etc have moved around in sympathy.

I've restored key components of Vista using the restore function, I've uninstalled all the hardware and let the system re-install the native keyboard adn still I am defeated.

Does anyone have a solution to this, it's not a region or language issue and it's seriously frustrating and time wasting.

I knew I should have bought a Creative or other manufacturer, I'm going to have a further poke about, short of that I'll take a look at the registry and see if there's anything obvious.

Any assistance appreciated - If all else fails I'm going to try to get the MS or other keyboard customisation utility and re-create/save the original setup.
