Help can't connect to my netgear router

I was running xp pro and never had an issue with connecting to my router. I recently upgraded to vista ultimate and now I can not access the admin page. I can ping the addy, I can access the internet, and I know I need to upgrade my firmware with my router but if I can't get to how to I upgrade it. Helppppppppppppppppppppppp

Make sure your internet type is set to private in "Network Center" otherwise you won't be able to see other computers, printers, or routers in your network.

Make sure you're windows firewall isn't blocking anything.

3)
Make sure you're Norton Internet Security or something is trusting the connection completely. It also can be another firewall you installed, not only Norton... .
