I have lost my cd burner, how do I reinstall it

I lost my cd burner, I have lost it on Windows Vista and is there any way that I can reinstall it on my computer. I believe Itunes had something to do with this. Please help.

OK you need to go to Start-->right click My Computer-->on the pop up menu click at the bottom where it says Properties. The on the new window click on your left where it says "Device Manager". Look for the section CD/DVD Drives and tell me what do you see there.

Now if there is something in that section with a red mark, you need enable the device again. Just right click on the device with the red mark and hit enable.

If there is a device with a yellow exclamation mark, right click on the device and hit uninstall, and then restart your computer.

Now if there is nothing there, I will recommend do this. Shut down computer, take all power out(including power cables) open case, and carefully detach the cables behind the CD/DVD Drive, don't close pc yet. Then start the computer again.

Now shut the computer down again, unplug power cord, reattach the CD/DVD cables again, and start computer. See if your device appears again.
