You say that both monitors are recognised by Windows. I presume if you right click on the background, select Personalise->Display Settings, the dialog will show two monitors marked 1 and 2? If so, can you select the second display from the drop down? If you can, have you selected the "This is my main monitor" and "Extend the desktop onto this monitor" options appropriately?
Have you tried booting with only your second monitor connected? Did you see your BIOS messages appear? Could you see Windows after it booted?

hey mate. yes windows recognises them both have tried activating both ways havent booted with it as my main monitor as yet. it basically lacks the ability to activate the monitor. cheers for the reply
