Dell Laptop Battery does not charge
I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop, a few years old now. About 3 months ago, I bought a new battery since the old one would no longer hold any charge. I am running Vista Business with 2GB of memory.
The new battery has worked very well until a couple of days ago when I changed the power scheme from Power Saver to High Performance. Since then, despite being plugged into the mains, it has remained at 9% charge. I have tested that this is an accurate reading by disconnecting it. Within a few minutes it begins to close down due to lack of battery power.
Restoring the settings to Power Saver have made no difference.
I have searched the Dell site and updated the BIOS to the lastest version (A09), but all to no avail.
My suspicion iks that I have hit another Vista "feature", anyone got any suggestions / solutions?
Regards.
