SD card reader very slow on Vista Home Premium
Hi,

I have an HP dv9700t notebook computer with Vista Home Premium (64-bit) on it. The notebook has a built in SD card reader and I also have an external Edge All-in-1 reader that worked great on my older XP Pro notebook. It was really fast.

The built in reader works, but is slow. Vista sees my card in the Edge reader but access takes minutes. It's unusable. I tried changing the device policies to optimize for performance in Device Manager, but it had no effect.

I saw some earlier threads on this that said SP1 was supposed to have some fixes for SD access issues. I have SP1 and I'm still having these problems. Anyone know of any way to fix this? I bought this computer to handle digital photo processing and now it takes me forever to get my photos off my card.

Thanks.

Lisa
