Semiconductor Tech Diagnoses Eye Disease Over the Net
A new automated diagnosis tool can tell if a diabetic's eyesight is in danger by analyzing images uploaded to it over the internet. It's based on image recognition algorithms developed for finding defects in semiconductor wafers — and could spark more interest in computer-directed diagnosis.
