MPAA, RealNetworks Smoking 'Illegal Substances'
At the tail end of a three-hour federal court hearing on whether RealNetworks' DVD-copying software should be removed from the marketplace, company attorney James DiBoise said no harm was being done to the movie studios. He said users should not copy movies that they have rented. The argument was akin to head shops with notices warning that bongs are not meant for "illegal substances."
