Bill Proposes Privacy for Americans' Laptops at Border
Proposed legislation introduced in the Senate on Monday would enhance the privacy of American travelers. Among other things, the measure requires border agents to have reasonable suspicion someone is engaged in criminal activity before searching their laptop at a U.S. border stop. The legislation is to counter recently published Homeland Security rules allowing inspections of electronics without any reason.
