Philips drops stroboscopic backlight for flat TVs
AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Philips has quietly dropped its advanced, blinking fluorescent backlights for flat televisions, and will instead focus on LED backlights which are smaller, the Dutch electronics group said on Monday.
