Double Whammy?
I am wondering with a lot of issues running concurrently in the SLI community both Nvidia and ATI's concerning compatability and stability issues that we talk about here have to do with DX9 vs DX10? I really can't find any info on updates from game and software manufactuer's that make their product DX 10 compatible. COD4 is a relatively new game but it was designed with DX9 not 10 and the other 2 games I play GTR2 and GrandPrix 4 are so old that they run on DX 8. I am currently running 32bt Vista Home prem on a EVGA 780i SLI board with 2 8600 GTS PCIe cards with 4GB of OCZ performance titanium memory with a Core 2 Duo 2.66MHz. I can't OC anything becase of the stability issues with Vista and I am kinda wondering if Vista could be made to run on DX9 if you disable or delete the Aero function. Has anybody researched this? In the Vista control panel,Problem Reports and Solutions it shows COD4 is looking for DX9 but apparently Vista cannot find a sollution.
