Trying to install aoe 2 on vista 64 bit.. help

hey guys, i have a problem, when i am installing the game it goes to 100% then says "updating system settings" i cant get past this screen for some reason i looked in the file it created and the files are there but the installation is obviously not complete.. any ideas?

Same problem.

I had to install all the fonts manually before I could even get to this point, because it kept stalling when it got to them.
