Free Screenshot utility for gaming?

Is there like a free Screenshot utility for gaming purposes you can use instead of the snipping tool that comes with Vista?

I've been using Gadwin PrintScreen for years now, under XP and now under Vista. I haven't tried it on DirectX games under Vista yet, but it worked fine for that under XP, and it otherwise works under Vista, so that will probably work too. It has options to capture a user-selected rectangle (as well as full windows and objects), let's you adjust the image boundaries after capture, lets you choose what format to save images under. VERY nice program!!

Thanks! Im currently using Irfanview but it is unpredictable. Sometimes it works, sometimes there's a delay on the screenshot.

I recommend Gadwin Print Screen - they have a free-of charge version that is almost as good as SnagIt. If I were going to pay, I'd buy SnagIt, if I wanted something free-of charge, Gadwin - Screen Capture and Print Screen software

hello everyone this is my FIRST post here,just joined hoping someone can help me,and hoping to pay it back some day..any way i also have been using Gadwin PrintScreen for years now..but since i built new pc up and gone onto VISTA 64 screen print does not work in game mode,works fine on web screens and other but play a game,and when you press screen shot it display a full BLACK screen any ideas,i have tried settings,bmp,jpeg etc but to no effect..
hope someone can help me.has i need this for beta testing

I think you can just use the "PRTSCN" button which will save a pic to your clipboard which you can then edit in a photo editor. I'm sure there are better utilities for this but sometime the simplest option is the better one.

You can press "Print Screen" button beside "F12" to help you capture screenshot when you are playing games. If it fail to do it, you can use some screen utility to help.

The one I used can take screensho on pc when you are playing, and you can choose anywhere on screen to capture. After finished, it also can help you save the file to standard image format, such as JPG, GIF, BMP, PNG etc.
