Hi i'm the longbowman and I am new to vistaheads.
I recently purchased an Acer laptop with 500 G hdd which runs Vista OS
I would like to play my XP games on the laptop but they will not upload from disk.
I have tried to add a partition for XP which I hoped to dual boot but Vista prevents me shrinking the C drive even when run as administrator.
Please advise and many thanks

How To Import Pics Like in XP

OK, so I know this thread is extremely outdated and probably posted a million times. I searched and only find people asking the same thing but no one answering it properly.

So...

In XP, I could select and deselect any number of pictures, rotate manually, and then import. This was extremely useful when I had hundreds of pics (8 GB card) but only wanted to import, say, 30 of them. Where this came in handy was when I had 30 pics of one event, 100 of another, 50 of another and so on. Each import could be completed by selecting only what I wanted and then naming that group.

In Vista, I cannot do this. It seems to be all or nothing. They put the date on the tags for a reason, but they, too, annoy me. I just want to be able to do the same as I did in XP when importing pics, but I don't see that as an option.

What I'm doing now to work around this is extremely tedious - I shift + ctrl and grab each batch, copy them to their own respective folders on my desktop, and import only what's on the card into the directory of choice. I then move the next folder back to the card, remove and re-insert it, run the wizard and import THOSE pics into the desired location. Rinse. Repeat until all are imported.

Ugh.

If this is simply not an option, can someone explain why MS would create an inferior product for the next OS release? And speaking of, can anyone comment on whether they resolved this in Win7?

Thanks in advance.
