Cant Restore Backup Files From Hard Drive Using Vista Restore

Hi Everyone,

I have a problem restoring my back up files using the Back up and restore file center.

Just to give some backround, I originaly backed up my files using the vista back up and restore center to an external hard drive through a usb port.

When I plug the usb port in...windows recognizes the drive and I can see the backup files in a folder.

However, when I do the file restore (using Advanced Restore)

A Restore Files screen pops up...gives me only one option to restore (files from a backup made from a different computer) I click NEXT and another screen pops up prompting me to select the location of the back up restore. I have the drop down menue where I can select the drive. When I select the drive I can see my backup files. Once I choose the backupfiles..another screen pops up and states that "back up location is not available"


Please help, I have tried changing the security options, I have full admin rights. I even checked the format of the drive and it is in NTFS format.

Any suggestions?
