BUG CODE usb driver error
I have a 30 day old computer - my first with Vista. I am so lost, please help. I left the computer on and connected to the net, Monday morning. I live in a national forrest so my only choice for internet is a dial up connection. When I returned to the computer after lunch, my mouse wouldn't work. I got a message about "click on this bubble for help" and - "the device is not recognised". I was told to unplug the mouse and re plug it. That didn't work. Then told to try another device in the port, also didn't work. I tried the mouse in a different usb port - still nothing. Then it dawned on me to try the printer - no, no go there either.
I went to forum help in several places. I have not used any x box or blue tooth, nothing like that.
I decided I must need to use the included disks and do a complete system restore. At that point I got the BUG CODE Usb Device message.
When I came to this forum, I clicked on the "check your driver" ad. After 40 minutes (dial up) it informed me it didn't work with 64 bit. Earlier I had tried to load a game room and it would not load because it didn't like 32 bits.
Anyone have suggetions? I'm really bogged down with this. Thank you so much! AA
