Cooling fan

I have a problem which started a while ago. When I start up after being off for the night, the fan starts to scream, groan, and make noises as if a bearing is going. If I let it go, it calms down and no noise. I have cleaned with compressed air but I would like to know if there is any type of lubricant I can dab on it to quiet it down. I am afraid to try anything on my own as there is a small computer board flat under it. Would so appreciate advice.
