Vista or office 2007 issue?
Hi there,

I hope I am in the right place !

Have recently purchased a new notebook, running vista ultimate. And have loaded Office 2007.

Was previously working on XP with office 2007 which worked fine.

Here's my problem...

I work a lot with linked tables in Access and copy data from excel into access and visa versa with the normal copy and paste. This worked perfectly on my XP box, but having switched over to Vista, whilst trying to copy data from excel into the linked access table I get the following error message...

"The data on the Clipboard is damaged, so Microsoft can't paste it."

"There may be an error in the Clipboard, or there may not be enough free memory, try the operation again"

Am pretty sure its not a memory problem.

Have phoned Microsoft and they say as it seems to be happening only to me, they can't have their technical people look at it.

Would really appreciate any ideas or advice to try and rectify it.

Your assistance will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: Vista or office 2007 issue?
The problem will happens when the following 2 conditions are true:
1.One of the values in the first row of data contains a decimal point
2.You copy more than one row of data
To resolve this, there are 3 methods. 1. In Microsoft Access, click the dropdown arrow on the Paste icon and choose Paste Special. Select either Text or CSV. 2. Ensure there are no decimal points in the first row of the Excel data you copy. 3. Copy and Paste a single row at a time. For more information visit :Access Error: Data on the Clipboard is damaged, so Microsoft Access can't paste it
