No YouTube sound on my T61 running VISTA

I have explored the various sound settings and all seem to be correct. I do get sound out of each speaker when clicking the "test" button. When I download a Youtube video however, there is no sound. I am not very good at reading lips so I'd like to fix the problem.

Could someone please suggest where I might go for information about how best to troubleshoot this issue?
