Contacts Folder(s)

Somehow I managed to create another "contacts folder." I tried to delete it but Vista won't let me do it permanently. The original folder with all my contacts remains. However, when I click on "contacts" in the start menu I am taken to the new folder which is empty. Additionally, when I create new mail and want to fill in the recipients name and address, I can't. Apparently Windows Mail goes the empty contacts folder. Any suggestions on how to remedy this situation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
