1. Select a category or forum that best suits your question. For example, if you have a problem with your email in Vista then try asking your question in microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail
2. Click on the text "microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail" and this will bring you into the forum where you can post your message.
3. You will see a button near the main heading with "New Thread" written on it.
4. Click on this button and you will be brought to a screen that will let you enter the details of the problem.
5. In the screenshot above the Title is "Cannot Receive email in Vista Ultimate". It is important to have a good description of the problem in the title, titles like "mail broken" will not get many peoples attention.
6. Underneath the Post Icons you will see a button with "Submit New Thread" on it. Click this and Viola! you have just put your question out to millions of willing Vistaheads who may have had the same problem as you and have a quick solution for you.
Some pointers for Posting Messages include:
1. Give as much detail about your problem as you can. Try include error codes and messages where applicable and as much about your PC as you can.
2. Be polite. As soon as you become impolite you will get no help.
3. Be aware of other cultures on the forum. Some users may feel that a poster is being impolite when in actual fact they are new to the language.
4. Try search for an answer to your problem before posting. More often than not your answer lies within the hundreds of thousands of messages that users have already posted.
