Re: Beware of: All-In-Wonder 2006
Not true MS has no itdea if the encoder is hardware or software based since VISTA only talks to the driver and not to the board itself
In MCE 2005 MS said it would not approve of any software drivers to be approved for its MCE2005 logo program and ATI and others developed the with software encoders and they worked fine even thought they were very CPU intensive.
I read another post this week that stated that a user had gotten a respose from ATI that Vista software drivers for the tuners on AIW cards were currently being tested by users and would be released in the future(no date speciified).

microsoft has decided to no longer allow software based tuners.
you will need to find a firmware/hardware based tuner.
ati is coming out with some if not already available.

Though ATI marketed their All-In-Wonder 2006 in their upgrade advisor as
being compatible with Windows Vista, it neither is recognized By Vista Home
Premium's Media Center, not do they have a Vista software program!

AS QUOTED FROM ATI.AMD.COM:
"Note: All-in-Wonderâ„¢ boards operate with AMD Windows Vista-Ready Display
Drivers under the Windows Vista Operating System. However there is currently
no software application which provides TV/Capture functionality for
All-in-Wonderâ„¢ boards under Windows Vista."

This is an outrage!!! Can anyone recommend a good lawyer?
