Hi guys, I too was having this problem and searched the internet for
ours for a solution to no avail.
All I simply did was download the latest drivers from realtek as my
sound card was configured to run 5.1 speakers which I didn't have :S
Once downloaded, make sure that you set your speakers up properly, ie
if you only have 2.0 speakers, then set it up to run in 2.0, not 5.1 as
mine originally did.

Hope this solves some problems.
