Re: Xp Updates reinstalling every shutdown
Post the last 50 or lines of the WindowsUpdate.log, please.
Start > Run > type in or copy%paste the below into the Open: line and
then click OK or press Enter

%windir%\windowsupdate.log

Make sure the section of the log posted contains the KB numbers of the
updates that are trying to install.
Include any section that include any FATAL or WARNING entries plus the
preceding and following entries.

To stop the repeated installation attempts for now, disable Automatic
Updates via the Automatic Updates applet in the Control Panel.
Set it to " Turn off Automatic Updates "
Then disable the Automatic Updates service by opening the Services
console [ Start > Run > type in
services.msc
Click OK ]

Double left click on Automatic Updates and set the 'Startup type' to
Disabled. Click Apply, OK.
Close the services console.
