I've been running both Vista x64 and x86 (not manufactures OEM's) for over a year now with no problems. The problem lies with the manufacturers and not Vista. My brother bought a new Vista notebook about a month ago and after 2 or 3 weeks of nothing but problems he sent me an email complaining about Vista. I told him to get a copy of the real OS, as opposed to the venders install, format the hard drive and install Vista. That was a week ago and he now loves Vista.
