Service Pack 1 will be available to the general public closer to the middle of December 2007. It is currently available to certain Beta Testers and also Technet Subscribers.

The Service Pack will be around 450MB in size and users will require around 4.5Gb of free space. This means that before you even think of getting the Service Pack you will need around 6Gb free space to be sure.

So what will Vista SP1 do for you...

Check out this link for a list of the fixes and improvements available in SP1 - http://technet2.microsoft.com/Window...e56ab1033.mspx

This last Sunday I tried 2 download the new SP1 for Vista, BUT, I coulden't. So I called Dell on Call since I have 5 pending fixes I've paied 4. They tried also. After several hours on the phone with a Dell Tech. I got cut off, the line was dropped, or maybe they just got tired of me and hung up on me. So I called them back and after going through all their sign in crap, they tell me, "Microsoft is aware there is a problem with trying 2 download the Vista Sp1. It's best u try in a day or 2. Thousand's of people r trying to download the Vista Sp1 and there is a problem being able to do so." So can anyone tell me what is going on with the new Vista Sp1? Here r the error codes I have gotten when trying 2 download it the 6-time's I tried 2. 1. Code 4C7.2. Code E0000100. 3. Code 80240020. 4. Code 800736CC. Thank u. GeneTheIndianChief.
