Hi Engel. Thanks again for the speedy reply. I don't run Dial-a-Fix. I tried
out all of the advice that you gave and (a) Of the four services specified
all but BITS were enabled.In the BITS Propertie/Log On facility only one item
was listed, namely Prifile 1 and this was enabled. Howwever, in between our
posts,for a second time I went through all of the 12 steps outlined in
Resolution One to KB 916251. As on the first occasion, everything appeared to
work as it should. But BITS still remains disabled. The difference this time
is that the cause given for failure was different, ie from completing step 9
and thereafter, the cause was give as "Errior 126. The specified module could
not be found.", as opposed to the first time when it stated"Could not start
BITS on Local Computer. Error 2. The specified file could not be found" It
gives one hope. Regards.
