I've since restored the whole system from an Acronis disk image, but I can
add the following - just in case it ever leads to some understanding.

Yes, the target was set up (Thecus N5200) and it was all working fine until
Something Happened... I checked the iSCSI service dependencies at the time
and it doesn't depend on anything and nothing depends on it.

Wish I could have replied earlier but after the restore Windows Mail refused
to download the messages between the restored date and today for vista
general, so I had to come via the web interface.

Mark - you clearly know a lot about services - thanks for the script... and
thanks for the input on the Event Log issue... (more in that thread)
