RE: Windows Mail working with Yahoo
Hey - I can explain IMAP and POP. IMAP (internet message access protocol)
allows you to access mail on multiple devices - the messages leave a copy of
each email on the server. POP (Post Office Protocol) is used for non-sharing
in that once a local software package downloads the email - the message is
deleted from the server. The propblem with POP is if a message gets
downloaded to your local computer and then you sign in to your lap top - you
will not see the previously downloaded messages; this is not good for
trvelling business people.
Yahoo's server settings are:
IMAP INcoming Server imap.next.mail.yahoo.com
SMTP OUTgoing Server smtp.next.mail.yahoo.com
I am having a problem with the login - which I hope to resolve soon. I hope
this helps.
