Actually no it is *not* a PC thing.

It is a software-vendor thing that choose to use such tactics.

It is up to you as a customer to choose to buy such products.

I don't have the above problems on my PC as I don't run Vista (at least
not on any primary machines, only on a development testing system),
Alcohol 120% or Nero. See what I'm trying to get at?

So no, it is not a PC thing.
