I'm new to the forum, but not to vista, having used it for 6 months or more, swinging between it and xp whilst awaiting enough drivers to make it worth the switch.
I have this HP Presario v3020AU notebook, nicely stickered with "Designed for Windows XP, Vista compatible" on it.. it runs vista fairly well, after quadrupling the ram, and maxing out the hard drive (yes, shadow copy is still on). I ordered a new WD2500BEVS in October but it still hasn't arrived!!!
The only thing that doens't work properly is the Richo SD/MMC reader that seems to cope well with a 4gb Sony memory stick but can't start the device when a SanDisk SD card is inserted - annoying only in that transferring photos is a bit of a hassle.
My desktop I built myself about 18 months ago. ASUS A8N-SLi WD Raptor x2 RAID 0 and a seagate 320gb perp SATA two 7950GT GPU's Antec TrueControl 550watt PSU, a BenQ SATA DVD and Sony DVD burners, 2 Samsung 931B Monitors and a WACOM bamboo. It's running Vista 32bit as well, can't be bothered ordering the 64 bit DVD just yet. Getting the right SATA drivers was a real pain, but it's all up and running well now.
Oh, Me? Been a nurse for 23 years, now moving into recruitment. Also done some web mastering, designing and java here and there. Nothing too challening!
