In the future, it is best to respond in the same thread as what
your comment is about. That way we can understand the
background of your issue better.

The registry key in question will not be present if you don't
have the PowerPoint Viewer program installed. I don't have
the Viewer installed because I have PowerPoint itself; you
are probably in the same boat. Before you make any changes
to the registry, try the other fixes first. You can get to the file
associations by opening the Default Programs applet.

If you need more help, describe your issue more fully.
