Maybe an obvious suggestion, but have you clicked on the "Show process from
all users" button on the processes tab of Task Manager? - otherwise you
won't see all processes.

The Vista indexer processes are SearchIndexer.exe, SearchProtocolHost.exe
and SearchFilterHost.exe.
