Re: Error message when editing config files
Phil

Did you turn UAC (User Account Control) off in Vista?

The C:\Program Files is a restricted area in Vista. If there is a program
configuration file that the program updates, there should be a mirror copy
of the file in the C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Progr am
Files folder. This is called Virtualization in Vista and this is tightly
integrated with the UAC mode.

You can do one of 2 things that should resolve the problem.

1. Turn UAC on.

2. Point the FSX program to the copy of the FSX configuration file in the
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Progr am Files folder and
perform the editing there.

Let us know what you find.
