I just built a system with a Q6600. I've got an Asus P5W DH Deluxe
board and 4 GB of RAM. I'm not having any speed issues so far. The CPU
is scoring 5.9 - and the RAM 5.5.

The system is still initializing the Raid volumes that I built with the
ICH7 Southbridge (having a Raid 5 volume and a Raid 1 volume on a
desktop is going to be nice).

The one catch I had when I started out was that the motherboard only
registered 3.2 GB of RAM as available until I went in and changed an
option to allow a 64 bit OS to see the entire RAM amount. That might be
a spot to look for in your BIOS if you're having issues with speed and 4
GB of RAM.
