Normally when you uninstall something you don't even need to be
connected, so why you would be getting a "message" "from their site"

I'm going to guess here that this means you saw a blank page
and used View Source? And then you saw some HTML source
which wasn't rendered on your IE window? That's not a popup
being blocked. The reason why you would not be seeing the HTML
rendered would depend on various factors, the most likely being
too tight security settings. In order to set your Security settings to
default doubleclick on the security zone icon in the Status bar,
e.g. usually the one labeled Internet, and then click on Default Level
in the Security tab that brings up.
BTW it also helps us a lot to see the URL that you see in your Address bar
when you are having trouble with a publicly accessible page.

It looks as if you are just have trouble opening one page.
